artistic activities at the nursery At Little Owls we are very lucky to have local sculptor and bubble maestro, Felipe Gonzalez, as our Artist in Residence. Each term Felipe and the children work together with clay on a specific project tied into that term’s theme. Felipe also runs excellent bubble workshops providing our young learners with a fantastic opportunity to make and pop truly enormous bubbles! Felipe’s artistic skills also help make the Great Milton Holiday Club and After School Club so successful—from building pirate ships out of junk to crafting whistles from clay, Felipe and the kids are always in a whirlwind of creativity, enjoying every minute. |

more about Felipe Where did you grow up? San Diego. What did you think of school? I liked school, especially pre-school! How did you discover bubbles? I've always found bubbles among the simplest of pleasures and therefore the best! The bubble wands are adapted from a street busker show I saw in Vienna. What effect do you think your work at Little Owls has on the kids taking part? What do they get out of it? I hope they enjoy it, but most of all I hope it makes them see or think something new. These projects help build eye-hand co-ordination and confidence and team work! |
